London Qinghua Chinese School Spring Festival Celebration

On February 1, 2025, the Harrow and Ealing campuses of our school grandly held a school-wide Spring Festival celebration, bringing together all teachers and students to celebrate the Chinese New Year. This event not only showcased the richness of Chinese traditional culture but also allowed teachers and students to experience the joy of the festival amidst laughter and happiness.

Both campuses’ halls were meticulously decorated with red lanterns and intricate paper-cuttings, creating a strong festive atmosphere. During the opening ceremony, the principal delivered an enthusiastic speech, extending New Year greetings to all teachers and students while emphasizing the significance of the Spring Festival in Chinese culture.

The cultural performances brought the event to its peak. Students  prepared traditional songs, dances, and instrumental performances. Special guests also delighted students, teachers, and parents with outstanding performances. Teachers were not to be outdone, as their singing and dancing captivated the audience. A unique traditional costume show added an extra flair to the event, leaving everyone amazed.

In addition to cultural performances, the school set up a folk culture experience area where teachers and students could actively participate in traditional Spring Festival activities. Writing Spring Festival couplets, creating “Fu” character calligraphy, paper-cutting, shuttlecock kicking, and a zodiac wheel game were particularly popular, creating a lively atmosphere. Students and parents enthusiastically joined in, immersing themselves in the unique charm of Chinese culture.

A special highlight of this event was a charity sale. Students and parents contributed homemade food, paintings, and other handcrafted items for sale, with all proceeds dedicated to supporting cultural activities at the school. This initiative not only promoted the spirit of mutual assistance during the Spring Festival but also fostered a strong sense of community among students and parents.

The Spring Festival celebration concluded successfully amid laughter and joy. Teachers and students expressed that through this event, they not only deepened their understanding of traditional Chinese culture but also strengthened their bonds with one another.

This celebration not only brought joy to the entire school community but also highlighted the profound heritage of Chinese culture. Our school will continue to host similar cultural activities to ensure the rich traditions are passed down within the campus.
